The Product Performance Specialist (PPS) is responsible for tracking After Treatment System (ATS) and Emissions Warranty performance, identifying the key technical issues to be resolved and driving the root cause analysis and resolution process in conjunction with the Quality Improvement Team (Current Product Management). The position is the regional reference for the Powertrain ATS Quality Product Line in the North American Market.Main Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Decision-Making Authority:Collect and analyze all available information regarding product performance in the field for the assigned model range from sources including ASIST, base warranty, field visit reports, Customer Service, Emissions Warranty and regional Product Support / Quality teamsMeasure, analyze and report warranty performance indicators for the assigned products. This includes warranty frequency and spending trends. Complete pertinent data analysis to identify components and systems requiring fix actions or improvementAs leader of the Quality Improvement Team, identify and correctly prioritize field Quality & Reliability issues and guide the QIT and Platform teams to develop action plans to drive fix resolution and improvementsResponsible for the identification and recall of components driving emissions warranty. Work with SQE and Engineering to analyze and integrate between supplier and vehicle to develop resolution to issuesChampion the diagnostic activities for key field issues to ensure the correct root causes are identifiedSupport the CPM process in driving timely and focused development and execution of action plans, ensuring fix actions are suitable, correctly validated and delivered to the field in line with expectations and timing objectivesSupport the FPT Product Development process by working with the Platform team; assist in determining the strategic direction of new products in areas of field quality and reliability, fitness for use, and customer satisfaction, share potential risk areas based on current product performanceChair regular customer meeting and presentations to share status and develop relationships that aid the closure of the issues. Support as needed management meetings with clear trend charts and updates on current projectsIdentify requirements for in-field Product Improvement Programs when necessary and work with customer level Product Performance Specialists to process for approvalsDevelop field campaigns when necessary and monitor execution once approved, working with the campaign office and the Parts & Service organizationThe qualified candidate will have:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline3+ years of experience in product quality that also includes strong analytical skills (preferably with knowledge of statistical tools), logical and rigorous problem solving approach and experience with problem solving tools, and organizational and project management skills with the ability to participate in and lead global cross-functional teamsAbility to maintain a high level of autonomy The ideal candidate will have:Knowledge of off highway vehicles.
