Overview:
A rapidly growing construction company in Northwest Indiana is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support daily accounting operations with a focus on AP/AR, billing, and job costing. This onsite role requires strong QuickBooks experience and a solid understanding of construction-related accounting and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely, accurate payments.
Prepare customer invoices, manage receivables, and follow up on past-due accounts.
Perform weekly check runs and reconcile vendor statements.
Apply customer payments and maintain detailed AR aging schedules.
Maintain organized financial records and transaction support.
Assist with month-end close activities, journal entries, and reporting.
Handle lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and subcontractor billing requirements.
Partner with project managers to ensure accurate billing and job costing.
Support the Controller with reporting, analysis, and special projects.
Qualifications:
2+ years of AP/AR or general accounting experience, ideally in construction or a project-based environment.
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).
Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Familiarity with construction accounting practices (e.g., AIA billing) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
