Gaijin, Chef Paul Virant's Japanese restaurant in the West Loop, is looking for someone to represent us at the West Loop Green City Market every Saturday from 7/21 - 10/1. We'll be selling kakigori, a Japanese shaved ice dessert featuring seasonal fruits from Klug Farms.
Our ideal candidate is reliable, friendly, able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys interacting with the community. Restaurant experience is a plus, but not required.
Market setup begins at 6:45 a.m., rain or shine, and break down will be completed by 2:00 p.m.
Candidates must be able to lift and carry 40+ lbs, be physically able to kneel, bend, or stoop, work 7-8 hours on your feet, and provide excellent customer service. Candidates must be punctual and consistent.
This is a seasonal position that may translate to year-round restaurant work for qualified candidates!
