Job Details

The Data Engineer role is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the database(s). This includes being involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. This position also performs a key function in the business with developing, maintaining, and enhancing our Business Intelligence Dashboards and reporting.Responsibilities include:
  • Install, configure and monitor SQL enterprise servers
  • Work with Business stakeholders to generate insights and present these findings in visually rich dashboards
  • Translate business requests and KPIs into relevant data sources to be able to adequately build and design reports.
  • Maintain regular touchpoints with business stakeholders to ensure existing reports and dashboards are functioning and meeting the business needs
  • Manage database clusters and failover scenarios
  • SQL server performance analysis and tuning using diagnostic tools
  • SQL server job automation using SQL agents
  • Backup and recovery of large databases
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Database administration in virtual environments like VMWare
  • SQL Data warehouse performance tuning
  • SQL index design and tuning
  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Maintain and customize dashboards in Power BI/Tableau/similar tool
  • Review and implement application API integrations to add additional sources to the dataset
Required Skills:
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to understand the requirements and implement or present the story in a meaningful way
  • Good program management and change management skills - ability to work in very agile environment with quick turnaround
