Job Description - DevOps Engineer

DEVOPS ENGINEER

Seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a growing global financial organization. As the DevOps Engineer you will be integral in delivering and deploying the most valuable tools for the organization. As a part of this Release Engineering team, you will be responsible for software builds and releases, which includes the design, development, support of builds, scripts, and installation procedures. The ideal DevOps Engineer candidate must have experience with Gradle, git, Jenkins, CI/CD and coding with Python or Java or C. Looking for a collaborative candidate who willing to learn a lot, looks for opportunities to help out more and find opportunities to contribute. Excellent communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environment

Provide instruction and training to Development, QA and other team members

Design pipelines for reliable builds & releases to ensure streamlined deployments as part of the overall SDLC

Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support

Provide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutions

Provide support to, and coordinate with developers and operations staff

Requirements

3+ years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer, Release Engineer, Software Development Engineer or Automation Engineer or similar role

Maven/Gradle required

GIT

Jenkins or Jenkins X, including provisioning access, Jenkins Pipelines or working with Jenkins Agents is required

Scripting languages like Bash, Ruby, Groovy, PowerShell scripting, and PythonCreation of Docker Containers

Strong in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) concepts

Setup and configuration of Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation or Helm

Understanding of Infrastructure as Code

Familiarity with source control systems (Git, SVN)

Demonstrates top-tier analytics and problem solving

Experience working in a service-oriented team environment

Project Management, organization, and time management skills

Takes initiative and is detail oriented

Willingness to learn new and emerging technologies and implement in a short time

Able to multi-task and manage tasks with varying priorities

Able to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment

Linux or Windows administration

Excellent interpersonal communications skills
