Job Description - Mid Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and deliver system and azure services to automate manual operational work

• Responsible for automating & operationalizing engineering tasks on Backend Services - data migrations, performance tuning, capacity changes, disaster recovery, etc.

• Design and deploy highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure and systems to support critical products and processes

• Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate post-mortems, and ensure permanent closure of incidents

• Design and implement automated monitoring strategy across critical processes, systems, and interfaces; identify the correct routing for each alert and establish thresholds for immediate notification

• Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes

• Analyze and initiate business process improvements and solutions to identify risk factors and formulate solutions to mitigate risks

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure Services, IaaS, Azure App Services,

• Design, build, and release multiple environments while utilizing Azure DevOps release pipelines

• Design, build, test, and maintain our Disaster Recovery environments across multiple regions.

• Have a continuous improvement mindset that looks for opportunities to improve efficiencies, reduce costs where possible, and refine processes where needed.

• Understand and implement Git Flow practices and build automation to assist and enable the process

• Act as an escalation liaison for production related outages/system disruptions.

• Assist in defining, implementing, and enforcing of our security policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technology related field

• 2+ years' of experience in architecting, implementation and maintaining Microsoft infrastructure technologies

•13+ years' of experience focused on cloud environments and supporting infrastructure

• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends

• Prior work experience in a Consulting/Architecture position within a software and/or services company

• Experience with the Microsoft Azure in a DevOps Engineer role as well as application infrastructure related activities is a must

• Planning, configuration, optimization and deploying Microsoft Azure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, VMs, AD, Automation, Monitor, etc.)

• Deep understanding of application development design principles and patterns, and the software development lifecycle

• Familiarity with automated test, build, and integration techniques

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; strong ability to be an active listener; ability to present complex, technical ideas in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences

• Proactive and forward-thinking attitude and creative problem-solving ability

• Demonstrated values of collaboration, transparency, empowerment, and accountability
