Commercial Banking (CB) is focused on helping our clients succeed and making a positive difference in our communities. We provide credit and financing, treasury and payment services, international banking and real estate services to clients including corporations, municipalities, institutions, real estate investors and owners, and nonprofit organizations.The CB Control Management organization is responsible, in partnership with the business, to define and oversee the CB control environment. With a key emphasis on ensuring the end-to-end control framework supports robust governance and systems that identify, quantify, manage, and monitor risk at the appropriate level and establishes risk management tools and procedures in consultation with the relevant partners.Job DescriptionThe Controls Governance team directly supports the CB Chief Control Manager with the delivery of executive controls reporting to CB senior management through its Control Committee. The Associate role involves regular interaction with senior management across the Controls organization and partners with LOB, Functional & Regional Control Managers, Risk, and Compliance to ensure effective oversight of the CBCC (Commercial Banking Control Committee) governance framework and communication of control related issues.Responsibilities:The Associate's direct responsibilities include governance and oversight through maintaining and executing within the Commercial Banking Control Committee (CBCC) frameworkEstablish control governance and reporting to identify meaningful metrics to inform on health of operational risk and control environment

Partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, including Controls, Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Technology to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices.

Work with business and control partners to maintain an effective controls framework.

Maintain robust escalation framework, deliver appropriate messaging to senior management, and manage the CB Business Control Committee

Represent the CB in Working Groups and lead meetings or speak on behalf of CB in various working groups on matters related to Audits, Control Committee reporting, and governance

Develop and implement effective Operational Risk analytics - ability to deliver deep, thoughtful analysis to identify CB level risks and measure the overall health of the CB Control Environment

Lead by example, with exemplary personal and professional attributes. Inspire confidence in all levels of key partners from other functional areas and across the Lines of Business

Skills & Qualifications :Professional experience (3+ years) in a highly analytical function, such as (but not limited to) regulatory, risk, and/or control areas ideally coupled with business management experience

Experience delivering strong governance and oversight across line of business and risk disciplines

Track record in transforming business aligned risk and/or control reporting and analytics

Analytical thinker who is adept at reading across issues and identifying key drivers. Must have the ability to understand and summarize relevant business data, identifying key messages for Senior Management

Excellent command of Power Point and Excel, including the ability to develop reporting tools to track deliverables, as well as address ad-hoc data requests. Familiarity and expertise in Intelligence Solutions such as Alteryx and Tableau are a plus

Confident professional with good judgment, maturity, and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior management

Well-organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes

Have a collaborative style, be flexible, and have an ability to partner with other team members across global time zones

Excellent project management skills, including ability to operate within a matrix organization

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex ideas simply

Excellent relationship building and influencing skills

High attention to detail

Energetic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure - must enjoy the challenge of working within a fast-paced, changing, and demanding working environment

BA (or equivalent) degree required
