Job Description
Infection Preventionist (Registered Nurse RN or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN):officially we title this job an Infection Preventionist, but in other centers it may be called a Safety & Infectious Disease RN, Infection Control (ICP) Nurseor an Infection Prevention (ICP) Nurse.What you'll do:
- Develop &implement the infection control program (ICP) in accordance withcurrent IDPH regulations for our SNF environment.
- Maintain compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulationsto provide staff education and training as needed
- Perform Infection (ICP) Surveillance; tracking & trending and developing action plans accordingly
- Lead the weekly Infection Control QAPI meetings
- Routinely monitor antibiotics usage &physician prescribing practices

Qualifications
Infection Preventionist (Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse)What we need from you:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in IL
- The a-IPC or CIC (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control) is ideal. But we will also consider applicants with a current (or willing to obtain the) CDC infection Prevention Training Course.
- Experienced in Long Term Care or Post-Acute Care preferred
- Must have experience with an electronic documentation system, preferably PCC
