The Global Insider Threat Program is part of the Cybersecurity Department. The GITP protects TransUnion Data and information systems from risks existing within the corporate network, by identifying risks and applying mitigating controls. Our program is divided into three teams, Data Loss Prevention, Behavior Analytics and Monitoring, and Investigations. Our services ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for personal information, health information, payment card industry, and privacy protection, in 30 countries and even more legal jurisdictions. We protect TransUnion's intellectual property and inventions from loss, thereby retaining competitive advantage and market share. We detect data loss vulnerabilities, apply controls to reduce the risk posed by the vulnerabilities, alert on data loss through the vulnerabilities, and when there is data loss, investigate the incident.

What You'll Bring:

The Cyber Security Insider Threat and Data Loss Prevention Investigator is tasked with detecting, preventing, and investigating loss of regulated data and proprietary information. This position operationally controls data loss prevention and investigation tools in a rare opportunity for full cycle Insider Cyber Threat operations. This position communicates analysis and investigation reports to high-level stake holders. This position collaborates across Cybersecurity, Information Security, HR, Legal and business unit teams.
  • Gain understanding of company policies and procedures for enforcement
  • Learn and use information security tools, such as Data Loss Prevention applications, SIEM, and e-discovery
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of DLP processes/rule creation, maintenance and documentation
  • Evaluate alerts to data loss or insider threat from technical and human sources
  • Identify technical business processes to differentiate from unauthorized behavior
  • Create interview plans to efficiently obtain facts and verify information from witnesses and investigation subjects
  • Identify when additional security controls are required to mitigate risk, and deploy the controls without disrupting business processes
  • Analyze information collected during investigations and recommend solutions to mitigate risk
  • Prepare thorough reports, memorandums and summaries outlining investigation facts, data and develop actionable intelligence for the management and the business to mitigate risk

We'd Love to See
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Science, Computer Science or related discipline, or related cyber security certifications
  • Experience with DLP applications to include policy tuning and infrastructure maintenance
  • Experience conducting counterintelligence and/or insider threat investigations
  • Experience in developing cyber investigations plans
  • Experience interviewing, debriefing and eliciting for information satisfying investigation requirements
  • Holding or working to obtain Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation or equivalent government training and certification

  • Independently conduct thorough and detailed investigations to identify root causes of risk
  • Conduct in-depth interviews of alleged suspects and fact witnesses
  • Coordinate the collection and preservation of evidence
  • Analyze information collected during investigations and recommend solutions to mitigate risk
  • Prepare thorough reports, memorandums and summaries outlining investigation facts, data and develop actionable intelligence for the management and the business to mitigate risk.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure risks and vulnerabilities identified throughout the investigations are mitigated and resolved quickly
