As a RAN Design Engineer, you'll oversee the design engineering for our Radio Access Network (RAN) as well as Radio Frequency (RF) engineering. About 70% of your role will consist of design activities, but you'll also use propagation models, predictive analysis, various process and engineering principles working with and understanding data to make additions and changes to the network in support of AT&T's strategic objectives. You'll also conduct research trials to work through new development and innovations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:- Analyze, design, and optimize wireless network to drive improvements in functionality, performance, and efficiency
- Create design plans for network expansion and/or modification, may assist Engineers/Sr Engineers with creating design plans
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure engineering designs are implemented as intended and that quality issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Test, collect and analyze data and modify it, as needed. This may include GIS (Geographic Information Systems) activities involving the analysis of RAN data to create design plans to improve all key indexes and performance indicators
- Present to leadership on research and trials
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or another STEM related field
- 2-3 years of experience in network design, network planning or network analysis or related experience
- Interest in working with and understanding network data
- Ability to access data/KPIs via SQL and experience working with a scripting language like Python desired
