Job Description

Shopify Fulfillment Network (SFN) group’s mission is to help our merchants get their physical products into their buyer’s hands in a timely manner—one of Shopify’s highest priority strategic initiatives. SFN deals with physical goods and the movement of those goods as they travel across the world. We work at the intersection of design in the digital and physical world, and as such are exposed to a variety of unique challenges, users, and system-wide challenges. We solve system-wide problems like inventory management, order management, order allocation and optimization, inventory movement and optimization, and transportation.

We are seekinga Senior UX Manager who can help drive our strategic efforts in taking our solutions to the next level, using lessons learned over the last years, to build the experiences we need for the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading UX for the SFN products, working as a strategic partner with Engineering and Product Management to set the experience strategy, direction, and roadmap for the group

  • Build and scale strong UX teams, that leverage the full spectrum of the user experience crafts in designing high-quality solutions

  • Establish strong and collaborative working relationships with our internal and external partners to ensure we are building cohesive experiences across the entire fulfillment journey

  • Hold a high-bar for quality in design execution ensuring that our strategic, interaction and visual design solutions meet and exceed expectations

  • Be a constant learner, experiment, leverage our data and research tools to continually evolve product direction and improve product execution

  • Participate in, and help champion craft initiatives within your team and the broader UX organization

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

  • A track record as a creative design leader of UX teams that ship delightful experiences

  • Experience leading and scaling UX teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Expert knowledge of the end-to-end iterative design process, including how to develop and use personas, job stories, journey mapping, content modeling, wire-framing and prototyping, usability testing, and high fidelity visuals

  • Demonstrated experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes across cross-functional teams including engineering and product management

  • A deep empathy for the user and a desire to learn as much as possible about how they manage and operate their business

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your team and stakeholders understand the “why” behind your design rationale
