Sr. Data Engineer - Hybrid

Our direct client, an alternative investment firm in New York City, is looking for a strong Data Engineer. This position can be based in NYC or Chicago, hybrid working model, a few days per week on site is expected. Position Responsibilities Data Platform Administration and Development

  • Perform all the technical tasks required to keep our data platforms operating smoothly
  • Ensure timely availability of fit-for-purpose-reports and data analysis
  • Connect new systems to the data platform as needed
  • Perform daily health and security checks on all systems and diagnose/fix issues
  • Help select and deploy tools for user data access including reporting and BI platforms
Documentation and Training
  • Create and maintain documentation of platform, processes, best practices, and usage guides
  • Provide training and support to users in using our data tools
Required BackgroundQualifications & Experience
  • Education: College degree (BA/BS) or higher (or work equivalent)
  • 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or data analyst
  • 5+ years of experience with ETL or ELT (any tool OK)
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with Python
  • 1+ years of experience using and building APIs
  • Experience with reporting and business intelligence platforms
  • Experience work on Azure platform
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with Postman a plus
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques
  • Understanding of law or background in the legal industry a plus
  • Experience with scripting and coding with Microsoft tools a plus
  • Experience with Snowflake is a plus, but not required
