TITLE: Sr. Data Engineer/Developer- Remote
Location: RemotePosition Description/Overview: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (Remote). This role will do backend enablement on multiple Azure data marts and On Premises SQL Server data mart for application facing solutions for their clients. Duties & Responsibilities:- Multiple Azure SQL Database Data Mart development and support
- Data Load design and implementation from On Premises and Azure data sources into Azure SQL Databases or On Premises data mart.
- Design, development, and implementation of data marts and related applications
- Solution, Develop, maintain, and execute extraction, transformation and load (ETL) routines for importing data from heterogeneous data sources into the data marts using MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ADF
- Work with business SME's and data architects to implement dimensional data models
- Help to define and follow development standards and practices for backend data enablement initiatives throughout the company
- Acts as a subject matter expert for the Information Management team when interacting with internal business partners
- Develop and execute release deployment plans
- Troubleshoot production dataflow and code; support existing processes to meet SLA
- Provide optimization suggestions for source queries or queries running on Azure data marts
- Mentor and coach developers
- Expert in writing, tuning, and troubleshooting complex SQL scripts
- Expert in developing complex ETL processes (SSIS)
- Expert in designing and implementing database schemas using Kimball/Inmon methodologies
- Strong documentation experience and verbal communication skills for collaboration with business stakeholders and technical peers
- Able to contribute on an individual basis and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of data normalization rules, denormalization and other techniques to support reporting and analytics
- 6-8+ years of progressive responsibilities within IT functions, with a strong track record of work delivery and organizational leadership. Previous healthcare industry experience would be a major advantage.
- 6-8+ years hands-on experience in data warehousing development and design
- 6-8+ years of ETL process design experience, preferably with MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- 1+ years leading a development team is a plus
- Experience in Azure SQL Database development, changes, maintenance, and support is a plus
