This role will support our exciting best-in-class active trading group.

Charles Schwab User Experience and Design is responsible for software design across mobile, web and desktop platforms. We are a multi-disciplinary group of user experience designers, visual designers, content writers and researchers. We work with strategic business and technology partners across the enterprise to build best-in-class software experiences for our users.

  • You will support an engaged set of active trader users who rely on our products to manage their financial lives
  • By researching and understanding the user needs you will be able to impact how our users do business with Schwab and the thinkorswim brand.
  • You will learn how to balance functionality against complexity.
  • You will work with an engaged design team that fosters a learning environment
  • You will be instrumental in shaping customer journeys and brands; executing across a roadmap of new initiatives

What you are good at

  • Extensive design experience in responsive web & accessibility
  • Financial Service, active trading experience desirable
  • 4+ years of experience in a UX-related role
  • Innovative and experimental mindset
  • Ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story
  • Positive attitude and solid work ethic
  • Experience running design sessions with cross-functional teams
  • Effective relationship builderability to partner cross-functionally and cross-enterprise
  • Proficient in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Mural and Invision
  • An online portfolio demonstrating interaction design process and thinking
  • Adept at delivering high-quality work in an agile, fast-paced environment
  • Commit to improving our process and methods

What you have

Design Expertise and Execution
  • A curious mind to grow your capabilities and visibility within the organization
  • Facilitate collaborative design sketching and ideation sessions
  • Set expectations with the project team and prioritize activities. Escalate items appropriately
  • Lead design reviews and drive decisions, understanding great designs are achieved iteratively
  • Campion and partner with UX Research on usability testing, heuristic reviews, ethnography studies
  • Ensure that our design decisions are based on data and client research
  • Coordinate with the UX Content Strategy team on content completion and deliverables
  • Visualize ideas in a clear form (sketch, diagram, wireframe or prototype) and provide appropriate level documentation
  • Create design solutions that consider digital, physical, and service channels work together
  • Represent the design team and maintain the high standards set by the group
  • Ensure UX/UI QA is done at an expert level
  • Help establish and document design patterns
