Job Description

Your Career

As our Channel Systems Engineering Manager, you are the technical leader for the channel engineering team. You will work closely with channel sales and system engineering leadership, along with your team, to define reseller sales strategies and to build relationships with NextWave partners with the goal of becoming their preferred security vendor.

Your Impact

  • Recruit and hire new systems engineers, hiring the best talent in the industry

  • Responsible to train, mentor, and review employees on your team, keeping them engaged and successful in their careers

  • Develop strategic relationships with channel partner leadership to ensure Palo Alto Networks is growing with their business

  • Provide effective technical leadership in partner interactions to include sharing security trends and standard methodologies employed

  • Collaborate, contribute and support the Palo Alto Networks channel business management team and their business plans

  • Lead channel engineering enablement programs to drive partner depth and breadth of experience with the Palo Alto Networks portfolio

  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, education and other corporate teams to enhance partner enablement

  • Present to partners as a trusted advisor at various events for Palo Alto Networks

  • Act as an escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales reseller technical issues that arise

  • 50-75% travel within the United States, when appropriate

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Experience as a technical engineering manager

  • Channel experience preferred

  • Understanding of reseller business models, common financial pain points, such as profit margin, cash-flow, utilization, and days sales outstanding

  • Industry knowledge of security products and market trends, knowledge of competitor offerings and products, i.e. SASE & SDWAN

  • Strong communication (written and verbal), collaboration and presentation skills

  • Able to work independently and make managerial decisions

  • Can develop technical programs, create plans and execute those plans

  • Demonstrates leadership by example

  • Takes responsibility for one's own actions; is self-motivated; consistently exhibits a positive attitude and demonstrates initiative to get things done.
