Location: CHICAGO, IL

Duration: 12 -36 Months

Work Schedule: Flex schedule of four ten hour days. Tuesday-Saturday (10am - 8pm).

  • The Technology Operations Command Center (TOCC) works tirelessly to provide 24-hour support when time is of the essence for all of our most important, mission critical situations.
  • The Technology Operations Engineer role will provide day-to-day support of electronic trading and clearing applications. As a more junior position, the ideal candidate will monitor all customer facing environments, and escalate incidents in a timely and efficient manner according to strict guidelines and policies in place to reduce risk. TOCC’s fast-paced, dynamic work is important, demanding and rewarding.

DUTIES:
  • Primarily a UNIX support role in addition to some Level 1 support on Linux or Windows
  • Operations role supporting Unix, Red Hat Linux, Windows applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Create reports using incident management tools to increase efficiency
  • Event Monitoring
  • Incident Management: Ensure all alerts/incidents are acknowledged in a timely and efficient manner
  • Contribute to department documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Identify process improvements within all internal procedures
  • Review logs to determine possible recovery steps
  • Document timeline of events during a critical incident
  • Drive and run crisis bridge lines during a critical incident
  • Identify patterns of incidents and determine patterns for problem's root cause
  • Execute escalation’s Emergency Change Control protocol in a timely manner

REQUIRED CRITERIA:
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years hands-on experience in an Operations role supporting Unix with some Linux or Windows support experience.
  • A team-oriented work ethic.
  • Bachelors degree (preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems)
  • Be a quick learner, self-sufficient, and able to troubleshoot issues with a high sense of urgency.
  • Be able to multitask and provide excellent customer service.
  • Flexible working hours. We are currently working from home with a flex schedule of four ten hour days. (10am - 8pm )
  • This role is also expected to provide coverage for other team members, outside of this shift.
