Benihana located at the John Hancock Center in Chicago is now hiring many positions. We are seeking motivated, responsible and outgoing individuals for full time as well as a limited amount of part time positions. At the moment, we are looking for Hosts, Sushi Chefs, Line Cooks and Prep Cooks. In addition, we also are seeking the center of our concept, the Benihana Chef that cooks at the hibachi table in front of the guests. There are opportunities for upward movement within the company. Various benefits for full time employees, such as paid vacation, 401k plan and insurance.

Employees must have shift flexibility with weekends and holidays.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Below are descriptions of each position.

Sushi Chefs prepare food at the sushi bar in front of guests. Sushi Chefs are required to engage in customer service when a sushi bar guest inquires or makes a request about something. At least 1 year of experience is recommended. Sushi Chefs receive tips in addition to hourly pay.

Benihana Chefs are the center of the Benihana experience. Teppan Chefs cook meals on a hibachi grill directly in front of guests as they perform a show with cooking tricks. Benihana Chefs also engage and interact with the guests providing excellent customer service. Although experience is desired, it is not required. We provide paid in-depth training beginning at any level. The most important factors are an eagerness to learn and hard work. Teppan Chefs receive customer tips in addition to hourly pay.

Prep Cook is an entry-level food service position that is responsible for food preparation and prep area maintenance. This position also prepares the orders for the Benihana Chefs to make at cooking tables.

Line Cooks prepare food on a hibachi grill for guests in the lounge area and for take-out orders. Previous chef experience is highly recommended.

Hosts greet guests upon arrival and inquire about how they can help them. Hosts control the seating of guests and flow of the restaurant. They answer the phone and take reservations. Experience preferred but not required.
