Well established Evanston mainstay The Lucky Platter and Pantry is looking for part time shift lead / closing manager.
With over 33 years in operation, this funky and unique neighborhood diner has an amazing team. We are looking for an equally amazing individual to help lead our team during closing service Tue-Sat. Start time is flexible and we close at 8pm so manager is out by 9:30 on most shifts (no crazy late nights!).
This position reports directly to the owner/operator and will assist in leading a team of 12 FOH employees.
Responsibilities include:
- assisting with FOH schedule (including tracking the FOH labor costs)
- beverage ordering (coffee, wine, beer and spirits)
- assistance with some light food ordering with guidance from the owner/operator
- Assist in training new FOH employees
- basic office work (microsoft office)
- check deliveries for accuracy
- handle cash for daily deposits
- document anything noteworthy from the shift in the manager log
Qualifications we are looking for:
-Possess great leadership skills
-You must be self motivated, friendly and responsible
-High level of motivation and ability to follow instructions
-Ability to motivate team members/ set the example
-Excellent communication skills
-POS proficiency (we use Toast)
-Must be able to thrive in a high volume fast pace environment
-Exemplary hospitality skills
-Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
-Ability to stand up to 7 hours a day
-1-3 years experience as a leader or manager
- conversational Spanish is a bonus
- total hours in the week are flexible - minimum (what we need) is 20 hours. Maximum we can offer 30. Opportunity for more hours down the line.
Looking to start training as soon as we can - though we will not rush to pick someone unless they are a good fit.
pay will be competitive and commensurate with experience - roughly starting between $25-$28/hr.
