LPN (FT or PT): Be part of a team of educators, social workers and medical staff to run a small, and growing adult day care targeting Southeast Asian and other immigrants. Work in a colorful port of entry neighborhood and in a beautiful historic former German tavern. Work with caring staff and grateful clients.
Adult day services address promotion of cognitive, emotional and physical health of seniors in need of maintenance of independence and mainstream life. Under the supervision of a medical professional, this position involves development of plan of care, physical activity planning and implementation, routine physical checkups, dietary oversight, health talks as well as involvement with emotional, and cognitive needs of a variety of clients from various cultural backgrounds, plus case note keeping and preparing and submitting timely reports - all coordinated with a small collegial staff.
Position could be FT or PT (PT: Mon - Fri, any 3 hours between 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
Paid holidays/personal days/vacations, monthly bonus, health insurance, working in a beautiful historic building in the bustling northeast Chicago port of entry of immigrants, accessible by public transportation, vailable parking.
Any background in social sciences, education, social work is very helpful. Good communication, interpersonal, writing and clerical skills a must. Vietnamese or Cantonese language or cultural familiarity is a strong plus.
