Position: Assistant Manager

Location: Portage, Indiana

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Property Operations: Assist the Community Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the apartment community, ensuring high standards of service, maintenance, and resident satisfaction.

Leasing and Marketing: Support leasing efforts by conducting tours, processing applications, and implementing marketing strategies to maintain occupancy levels.

Resident Relations: Build strong relationships with residents, addressing concerns, coordinating community events, and fostering a positive living environment.

Financial Management: Assist with budgeting, rent collection, and financial reporting, ensuring the property’s financial goals are met.

Team Leadership: Supervise and support the on-site team, including leasing agents and maintenance staff, to achieve operational excellence.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including fair housing laws and safety standards.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in property management, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager role.

Section 8 or tax credit experience is a must

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business, real estate, or a related field is a plus.

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, etc.) is highly desirable.

Licenses/Certifications: CAM (Certified Apartment Manager) designation or willingness to obtain it is preferred.

Knowledge: Familiarity with Indiana landlord-tenant laws, fair housing regulations, and general property management practices.

Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call duties as needed.
