Property Systems Engineer

( Opera System Engineer )

12 month contract to start

100% remote / Chicago, IL HQ

Logistics:

Located within 3hrs of the Central US time zone

1year+ contract; will extend or possibly convert to perm

2 weeks training on the clients internal hosting processes with a ramp up on smaller projects and shadowing

Ideal Candidates (in order):

Opera/Interface Installations on Servers (from Scratch)

Opera Configurations (with good technical knowledge of IT)

Candidates who have technical/hotel experience specifically geared towards configuration, installation, migration & supporting Opera (Not required but would be interviewed immediately)

Team, Environment & Responsibilities:

Supporting Property Systems Team (who supporting 800900K Hotels - Globally)

Resource will work with 1 PM and a couple engineers

Example Projects for Opera:

Upgrading to newer Oracle Opera version (6+); this person will team up with other Engineers to upgrade

Test, release, and migrate data from the individual client locations that are using Opera on-prem (stand-alone) to the "Hosted Environment" that is within client HQ

Set up these locations with remote access to utilize the Opera system remotely

About Opera: Opera is a guest life cycle/property management system that enables internal employees to track guests', services, and changes to reservations. It also allows guest to control some functionality of their stay without contacting employees directly. This includes but is not limited to:

Make Reservations (which are then sent to the Reception)

Check in/Out

Give Room Key

Use WiFi

Access Premium Channels & Movies in room

Food/Beverage in Hotel - costs are sent to your file
