A leading insurance company specializing in investment, retirement and insurance strategies has a remote position available for a DB Programmer. Responsibilities Engine/Spreadsheet Development o Review plan specs and plan documents o Review prior calculations and documentation o Develop and test new client calculation engines o Develop and test new client spreadsheets o Set up database configuration Bug Fixing o Review and respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding potential website or spreadsheet issues o Fix and upgrade existing engines/spreadsheets o Log and track engine/spreadsheet bugs o Run regression on baseline test cases Catalog Management o Create Calculation Detail worksheets for new client implementations o Upload documents to online cataloger system o Complete and update bookmarks as needed Qualifications o Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience. o Minimum of 2 years work experience in Defined Benefit outsourcing. o Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field is acceptable in lieu of work experience. o Understanding of design, communication and administration of retirement plans, including defined benefit, defined contribution, and non-qualified plans. o High level of proficiency in programming languages. o High level of proficiency in Excel Preferred Qualifications o Experience with ProAdmin/ProVal, XLActuary, and VB a plus. o Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment. o Demonstrated ability to prioritize the workload, and meet scheduled deadlines. o Effective verbal and written communication skills. o Excellent problem solving skills. o Excellent analytical skills.
