Job Title: Solutions Architect

Location: Chicago, IL (REMOTE to Start)

Position Overview:
  • The Solution Architect provides accountability for the technical solutions from the Modern Engineering Team to ensure that the new technology, processes, and ways of working within IT align with IT strategy, increase the company security posture, and drive higher quality products. Modern Engineering is company’s adoption of DevSecOps processes and tools.
  • The Solution Architect is responsible for the technical thought leadership of modern product development technology and supporting processes across company, addressing people, process, and tool aspects of organizational change.
  • Primary responsibilities include developing holistic architecture for all Modern Engineering platforms (including Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Continuous Security, Infrastructure Immutability, Automated Testing, and Observability), overseeing output of other technical resources (e.g., CoE Security Architect, CoE Quality Architect, CoE DevOps Engineer, Delivery Team Solution Architect), and leading the technical implementation of the Modern Engineering solutions across company.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience preferred, including software development, operations, cloud, and/or DevOps.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering and DevOps experience.
  • Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing public cloud systems and associated integrations.
  • Experience designing and implementing end-to-end Continuous Delivery pipelines.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Azure Pipelines, or TeamCity.
  • Deep AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure public cloud experience in a production environment (e.g., network, security, deployment, automation, serverless technologies).
  • Experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Google Cloud Platform Deployment Manager, Azure ARM) and/or exposure to common container and container orchestration solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
