Remote / Hybrod

Direct Hire/FTE with Modis Client

Modis Inc. is in search of a

Senior Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design and creation of our clients high-performing web base software. This will provide an opportunity to rub elbows with some of the best engineers. Ideally, this role is going to be located in Chicago, IL however, our client will consider

remote candidates on a case by case basis providing they have a proven to work successfully while remote. This

Senior Software Engineer will write scalable code that for a product that handles thousands of transactions each day. As a Senior you will be expected to provide software design, architecture, testing, deployment and yes also provide support within our Agile environment.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Design and architect high quality and tested software

Serve as a subject matter expert on the internal platform architecture, services, and applications.

Provide mentorship to other members of the engineering team

Play a major role in code reviews and act as an internal champion when it comes to code quality

To be considered you must know or have the following experience:

Bachelor's Degree in CS (Computer Science), Engineering or a similar field

4+ years of software development experience

Proven experience leading and managing other technical engineers

Strong Java and JavaScript experience

Experience and knowledge of common JS libraries and frameworks (Spring, React, Redux, etc)

Any experience working with Open Source tools, frameworks and technologies (Linux or BSD)

Having a good sense of how to design and implement useful tests

Previous leadership experience is a big plus

Any Typescript and/or Golang experience would be considered a major plus
