The QA Analyst III should be technically strong and has the business knowledge to execute, analyze, deliver, and support any features in the application. The incumbent must establish and maintain testing environments as well as analyze, verify, and troubleshoot test results against requirements. The QA Analyst is required to report task progress, suggest creative ideas and approaches for improvement, and escalate issues to the team lead.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Identifies environment needs in support of testing needs
  • Participates in preliminary story review, providing constructive feedback and input on work effort estimation as well as design
  • Works with analysts to interpret high level requirements, decomposing them into acceptance criteria and test cases
  • Defines and writes test scenarios
  • Executes functional tests and works closely with the development organization in developing automated tests, verifying, and reporting on actual results vs. expected results
  • Designs and executes non-functional tests, including performance and resilience testing
  • Troubleshoots application issues - identifies risk and escalates appropriately
  • Reports on/tracks application defects
  • Contributes to automated regression testing, and other automation efforts
  • Owns the delivery of quality control and assurance across the application, gating application releases and deployments
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts
  • Embraces and enforces CME Group SDLC and information security standards

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to understand and absorb business & technology concepts quickly
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Unix, Java, SQL, and any Cloud certifications
  • Prior experience working with BDD methodologies (Cucumber) and automated acceptance criteria
  • Experience in developing and automating solutions directly related to Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery and infrastructure automation
  • Experience of testing methodologies for microservice API's
  • Experience of financial markets/exchange space and working with financial applications
