This Leader will be instrumental in establishing and formalizing a DevOps methodology in the delivery and automation of solutions from the network perspective. This team is built around a “NetDevOps” methodology intended to deliver solutions applying agile methodologies. You will be a member of a team of Sr. Engineers, developers and scientists who will work closely with the operations community to address critical pain points and challenges. You will be required to articulate in detail, technical solutions to complex problems and gain support and endorsement across multiple organizations.Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Knowledge: Applies extensive technical expertise, and experience to real-world scenarios.

Problem Solving: Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Discretion: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to assignment.

Impact: Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

Liaison: Must have excellent people and organizational skills to professionally interact with internal and external organizations. Interacts in a customer-facing capacity with on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Interact with Application Owners and Operators to provide an optimal operating environment.

Establish trust within the operational community to address pain points.

Engage/negotiate with operations stakeholders to develop requirements; to be translated into minimal viable product.

Seek ways to automate and proactively improve the operational environment.

Implement tools and processes for efficient and effective operational management of the environment change management, monitoring, alerting, incident handling, customer request handling, etc.

Detect and Resolve system problems, enhance system performance and reliability.

Seek ways to automate patching and upgrading applications and OS’s to maintain STIG and security compliance.

A passion to automate everything.

A motivated self-starting personality, able to work independently while maintaining patience with constant interruptions and multiple requests.

Strong speaking, listening, and writing skills are critical for presentations to varied audiences in terms non-technical leadership can understand.

Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Understanding of service provider network architecture components and service provider network domains, for example: PE, P, CE, Metro Ethernet Core, Aggregation, RAN Backhaul, and eNodeB.

Knowledge of routing protocols used in Service provider networks (BGP, ISIS).

PE-CE connectivity concepts such as Route Redistribution, filtering, loop prevention and Multi-VRF CE.

Understand VRF’s, VPN’s, isolation and route leaking techniques.

Demonstrated experience with MPLS, MPLS TE and other carrier class overlay technologies.

Experience in design and architectures on current and evolving enterprise and carrier-class networking platforms, with a focus on NFV adoption and network evolution toward SDN.

Expert level knowledge of L2 and L3 VPN topologies, scalability and impact of full-mesh topologies.

Experience and Knowledge with Cisco IOS-XE, XR, and JunOS Operating systems syntax.

Experience and detailed knowledge of Network Equipment from Cisco and Juniper such as ASR series and MX series.

Familiarity or experience with modern LSP distribution techniques such as RFC3107.

SDN Network programmability and data models uses (YANG, NETCONF, RESTCONF).

SDN controller-based design (north/south API’s).

Knowledge of Carrier Ethernet (VPWS, VPLS).

Knowledge of QOS/COS.

Education and Certifications:Compliant with DoD 8570 IT Level I baseline certification or higher.Master’s degree from an accredited college with 3 years of professional experience, or bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Physics, Telecommunications, or Information Systems) from an accredited college with 5 years of professional experience, or 10 years related experience in DoD / Service Provider Networks.CCIE-SP/JNCIE-SP or equivalent knowledge highly desirable.Work location: Scott AFB, IL.AT&T will consider for employment qualified applicants in a manner consistent with the requirements of federal, state and local laws.
