Are YOU ready to join us?DescriptionThe shift for this position is 8a-5p.JOB DESCRIPTION:Under the indirect supervision, oversees the HD activities and assists with direct patient care needs as indicated (e.g., delivers equipment and supplies to patient room, assists with dialysis machine setup, and patient transport).

Maintains and repairs dialysis equipment and water treatment system.

Assures the dialysis equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized per protocol after each dialysis session.

Cleans and sterilizes water treatment system monthly.

Performs daily quality control procedures (e.g., machine and water testing, maintenance of CQI records, development of CQI forms, monitoring of water treatment system, cleaning and disinfection of water treatment system, trouble shooting for dialysis equipment and water treatment system).

Reports CQI results to Dialysis Medical Director, Infection control, and Dialysis Department Director monthly.

Identifies and reports facility problems/repairs needs to facilities management and provides appropriate follow up to Dialysis leadership.

Educates staff on proper way to use and trouble shoot dialysis machines and water treatment system.

Communicates HD/CRRT equipment issues/concerns to Medical Engineering Department.

Assists Dialysis leadership in the establishment and maintenance of HD standard of care; maintains and enforces confidentiality.

Assures the dialysis equipment and water treatment system operates according to manufacture's specifications/recommendations in compliance with AAMI and with department policies and procedures.

Oversees supply inventory activities

Communicates supply needs to purchasing agent/material management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma required, BS preferred.

Two years of experience in the area of concentration.

Supervisory experience preferred.

HD Equipment Biomed certification preferred.

HD water treatment system certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:(Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
