This person will be directly working with our suppliers, OEM electronics manufacturers, and Commodity managers to ensure information is communicated in the securing and understanding of electronic component supply for Client. This person maybe working with R&D to look at alternative parts and support the rapid qualification of drop in replacement parts.Top skills needed: Electronics, Contract Manufacturing, project management, strategic sourcing The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will facilitate the data analytics and information standardization/ communication to support the execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Client's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost. Partnering closely with Client's regional procurement organization, this individual will work to mitigate risk and continuously work to develop and improve supplier systems and processes. In addition, this individual will be responsible for supporting and leveraging technology and purchasing power to reduce the overall cost of ownership and acquisition through analytics and process development that will support strategic negotiation and optimization of supplier agreements.A Day in the Life:The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will have responsibility for supporting a cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity team in the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities, in support of business objectives for cycle/response time, quality assurance, technology/new product development, risk mitigation, and total cost. This individual will support the category strategies that extend through the full supply chain including primary and sub-tier suppliers.Strategic Sourcing:- Support efforts for supplier analysis and information standardization, capacity availability, component risk, electronic shortage identification, outsourcing, and transition projects. Support and/or lead various types of continuation/product support projects directly related to the commodity or strategy- Strong understanding of Electronics and Electrotechnical suppliers and markets.- Primary leader in working with commodity managers and suppliers in the assurance of supply at the tier 2 and tier 3 level. Being able to facilitate and manage supplier expectations and factory needs.- A key leader for in-depth analysis around market availability- A key support role in supplier negotiations. Includes many types of agreements with suppliers including purchasing agreements, development, supply, VMI, indemnification, etc. Monitor agreements and expectations.- Support in gathering and analyzing market condition and technology trend information regarding commodities and suppliers. Suggest appropriate business strategy changes. Support in the development of technology roadmaps and corresponding supplier roadmaps where needed.Supplier Optimization:- Partner closely with Global Procurement, R&D, and SQA organization to drive development and improvement of continuity of supply. Identifies collaboration opportunities around supplier development and optimization and maintains strong relationships and communication to avoid duplication of efforts.- Provide analyst and market information to help identity and appropriately leverages technology innovation from the commodity supply base- Support in developing tools to help utilizes analytics and defined metrics (e.g., focus matrix) to identify and organize suppliers accordingly, in conjunction with QA, GBU's, and Regional Procurement teams.- Working with internal and external resources, responsible for supporting commodity rationalization, simplification, and localization.

Must-Have (Minimum Requirements): Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain and/or 1 year of Sourcing/Commodity Management/Manufacturing/Operations/Supply Chain and/or Engineering experience OR advanced degree Data analytics or analysis experienceNice to Have: Experience in high-volume and/or high-quality manufacturing Experience in medical device/ aerospace / automotive / electronics industries Demonstrated in-depth analytical analysis around supplier costing models and manufacturing processes Excellent written and oral communication skills
