Job Description

The Risk Management Analyst will have dailyoversight and administration of all insurance programs and risk management initiatives; act as a liaison with operating companies, insurers and brokers; prepare and maintain insurance policy files, underwriting data and paid loss allocations.

  • Support the placement and administration of key insurance programs. Compile exposure data; analyze and audit data for completeness and accuracy; consolidate data for submission to insurance brokers and underwriters.
  • Maintain schedule of insured locations on file with property insurer(s); notify insurer(s) of mid-term additions and deletions.
  • Review, reconcile and allocate monthly paid loss and loss adjusting expense invoices; distribute back-up documentation to operating companies. Perform monthly reconciliation of bank statements and escrow accounts.
  • Review contracts with vendors, suppliers, landlords and other third parties and make recommendations regarding insurance and indemnification clauses based upon risks transferred/assumed and for compliance with the terms of Fortune Brands’ insurance policies and standard requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from operating companies, including requests for certificates of insurance and auto identification cards; provide other risk management-related support to our internal customers as needed.
  • Review insurance policies for accuracy and completeness. Maintain electronic copies of all policies and other contracts in accordance with our records retention policy.
  • Facilitate the issuance of surety bonds and provide support for other surety-related requests.
  • Maintain a record of authorized RMIS users, approve additional users and monitor usage; perform quarterly audit of authorized users and document for SOX purposes. Track and maintain loss location codes used in RMIS.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute internal training materials (aka Risk Management Toolkit) to support the communication of global risk management programs to all operating company stakeholders (Finance, EH&S, HR, etc.).
  • Develop and distribute risk information reports, such as the quarterly WC Benchmark Report. Analyze data for negative trends to identify cause and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Aids Claims Manager in reporting of claims and identification of claim trends. Gain proficiency in TPA system(s) to support operating company users.
  • Identify and promote changes including new technology or process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • With the entire Risk Management team, identify and implement solutions that enable Fortune Brands to achieve its goals.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite, as well as Box and other internet applications.
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, remain organized, and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate risk management department, insurance company, or insurance broker.
  • Working knowledge of all insurance coverages, with emphasis on property/casualty lines.
  • BS degree required; emphasis in insurance, business or finance preferred.
  • Insurance designations such as Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) desirable.
