Quality ManagerKelly Engineering Resources has an outstanding opportunity for a Quality Manager. This position is with a company that manufacturers cleaning systems and chemicals for the food processing industry. In this position, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and planning of all quality assurance processes for all plants in North America. You will develop, maintain & update then implement and execute the Quality Management Systems throughout the US and Canada to ensure governmental, internal and customer specifications and regulations are met. While this position does not have day to day supervisory responsibilities, you will direct, train & mentor, as well provide input to quality and plant staff to ensure raw materials and final products meet internal and external quality specifications. You will have final authority to release product or stop production.Essential Responsibilities
Planning, coordination and implementation of the quality assurance program. Development of the quality control processes among 3 US plants, manufacturers and distribution network.
Communicate to corporate & plant management regarding Quality Issues including, but not limited to, complaints, site audits (FDA, EPA, DEA), and off specifications, and the performance of the quality system.
Back up for ISO 17025.
Perform the role of the Independent Quality Unit in the monitoring and control of quality processes including, but not limited to change control, deviation handling, raw material and product release, and validation.
Development, implementation, execution, maintenance, improvement, and training to the Quality Management System (QMS). Work closely with production staff, QC staff and R&D
Provide QA Approval and Oversight for manufacturing sites.
Technical support for manufacturing shop floor.
Provide quality approvals on product change and raw material change requests, GMP compliance issues as well as others.
Utilize six sigma tools/methodology for problem solving, RCA and in developing immediate & long-term CA/PA
Perform, or coordinate, GMP (Quality) Audits of Suppliers and 3rd party manufacturers.
Lead auditor for ISO, FDA, EPA, etc.
Lead root cause analysis on complaints and product and process deviations.
Special projects and additional duties as required by direct management.
Qualifications of the Successful QA Manager
Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering is required
10+ years of progressive experience in FDA regulated industries highly preferred, minimum 5 years will be considered.
In depth working knowledge, including change control, the application to plant quality and standard industry practices regarding:
FDA (21CFR 210& 211), EPA and ISO 17025 standards is required
Working knowledge of Health Canada or DEA is a plus
Successful record of accomplishment with Governmental regulatory inspections and audits.
Professional record of Deviation Management, Change Control and Root-Cause Analysis including:
ISO & FDA audit remediations
Immediate corrective and long-term preventive action – development & implementation
Planning, implementation, project management skills
Strong and Effective interpersonal management skills including:
Strategic thinking
Solution focused
Communicative, good relationship builder, team player, leadership
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, data driven decision maker
Detail-oriented and well-organized
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 30%, as needed)
Prior experience with chemical manufacturing or testing is a plus but not required.
Proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook is required, SAP experience a plus.
