The MPT group is accountable for the development of catalyst and adsorbent products from prototype to commercial production. MPT also provides technical support to UOP Integrated Supply Chain. This role is located at Des Plaines, IL. Develop expertise in key manufacturing technologies including but not limited to zeolite synthesis, shape selection, metals deposition and heat treatment. Complete hands-on laboratory bench scale and larger scale experimental work and indirectly supervise laboratory technicians on carrying out required experimental plans. Fundamental understanding of catalyst science and how catalyst properties relate to performance. Interface with other UOP departments including other divisions of Research and Development, Pilot Plant Group, Analytical and Advanced Characterization, Business, and Catalyst Manufacturing Plants to ensure robust products for our customers. Participate in all departmental safety activities and conduct all work with a high degree of attention to safety. Utilize six-sigma tools as necessary to implement project work.The annual base salary range for this position is $74,000-$92,600. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.YOU MUST HAVE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematicsWE VALUE: 1+ years of experience within an R&D role Advanced Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related field Demonstrated ability to create and work in a “safety first” culture Previous involvement in catalyst manufacturing and development Experience in laboratory operations and running lab scale equipment.
