Job Description

The Production Lead is the liaison for the Production Manager. This position will ensure associate activities meet the production/Company goals and all production projects are completed in a timely manner. Duties include coordinating day-to-day operations; troubleshooting, resolving production issues and holding associates accountable for required production and document control.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for coordinating the day-to-day operations of a group of associates and other functional areas.
  • Accountable for production equipment and movement of product as defined by the needs of the department.
  • Follow Company, quality and safety rules and immediately address and notify management of any concerns.
  • Ensure associate activities meet the production/Company goals.
  • Direct and facilitate daily 5S activities and continuous process improvement projects.
  • Spot check production to ensure dimensions, gauges and overall appearance meet quality standards.
  • Notify management and simultaneously assist support teams to troubleshoot and resolve problem situations as required.
  • Liaison for Production Manager thus responsible for assisting in department/productivity management.
  • Manage visual management/GEMBA boards.
  • Maintain and record daily production counts.
  • Lead and coordinate the training of new associates.
  • Coordinate arrangements with the support teams for maintenance of equipment, time studies, gauges, and tooling, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and assist in other department operations as required accommodating personnel and production requirements.
  • Support RBS activities.

Qualifications

  • This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder.
  • Use mathematics together with the analytical use of process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, and machine status board. Use various types of precision measuring instruments, and personal computer to input data.
  • Skills and experience related to the assigned department required.
  • Previous experience working on production equipment relevant to assigned department.
  • Demonstrated experience using considerable judgment to plan, perform, set up and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations and processes, including minor modifications to preprogrammed computer routines within the limits of recognized standard methods or procedures (where required).
  • Strong communication and basic computer (ERP, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments involving repetitive work, requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Familiar with AS9100 standards
  • Requires a broad knowledge of job experience of manufacturing processes and a comprehensive knowledge of related inspection equipment and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Moderate physical demand required to insert tooling, set up work centers, inspect workpieces and make machine adjustments, which is equivalent to continuously lifting or moving light weight material. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
