Job Summary A Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with a defined region. Reporting to a leader within Planning, an individual will create and maintain forecast models, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from program management, sales, and other sources while analyzing trends to assist in operational decisions. This individual also applies a continuous improvement mindset to make recommendations on process and/or system enhancements. Responsibilities- Responsibilities of this job consist of transactional, analytical, and strategic work to support WWT's end-to-end Order Management Supply Chain function, including but not limited to the following:
- Analyzes forecast models, develops, and maintains a demand plan by assigned region.
- Develops advanced models to test hypotheses and understand the impact of more complex decisions in various scenarios, drawing upon thoughts and insights from different sources.
- Synthesizes past and present data with an understanding of prevailing trends to generate forecasts that follow the organization's requirements and key assumptions.
- Utilizes resources to maximize performance and value added; utilizes reports and tools to track operational efficiency.
- Provides historical data and/or information on prevailing trends to support demand forecasting.
- Applies the most accurate statistical methods or formulas to solve problems or analyze a situation (e.g., probability models, combinatory, random variables, discrete and continuous probability distributions, statistical estimation and testing, confidence intervals, advanced linear regression).
- Support solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
- Coordinate cross functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales assumptions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies.
- Conduct forecast maintenance at specified intervals.
- Collaborate across all planning phases to drive HPT.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business or supply chain related field
- 2-3 years of supply chain related experience, preferably in a complex manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on routine assignments
- Ability to demonstrate a work ethic consistent with WWT's Core Values
