NorthShore has annual revenues of $2.1 billion and employs over 10,500 people.Position OverviewWe are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for our Finance Analytics team located at 1301 Central Street in Evanston, IL. This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible.This position provides analytical support to finance, accounting, and operational management. This includes participating in the budgeting and forecasting process, as well as, designing and preparing management reports, analyzing operating results and communicating results of analysis to corporate and divisional management. This position interfaces primarily with middle management and some upper management. The incumbent must also understand Company business strategies and issues, and have the ability to develop financial models and analyses in support of Company initiatives.Essential FunctionsParticipate in the preparation of the Annual Budget and on-going forecasts
Assist in the development of budget and forecasting tools to facilitate operating unit forecasting in partnership with Clinical Service Line (CSL) leaders
Active participation in development of CSL level budgets/forecasts for Income and Expenses and key statistics ensuring reasonableness
Manage budget load processes
Create, edit and issue budget reports
Financial Analysis
Prepare and issue monthly analysis of operating results with minimal supervision. Perform analyses of results to explain month and year-to-date variances and write commentary explaining variances.
Develop routine and ad hoc reports for senior and division management. Requires ability to learn and manipulate data in our reporting tool
Provide in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions (i.e. equipment purchases, profitability analyses). Sr Financial Analyst is able to prepare analyses of medium complexity with minimal supervision.
Month End Close
Assist in the month end close process
Prepare analysis and journal entries related to insurance payor contractual reserves
Miscellaneous Surveys and Special Analyses/Projects
Coordinate reporting hierarchy changes with Decision Support and Accounting
Prepare surveys and questionnaires as assigned (i.e. AHA Annual survey, IDPH Annual Questionnaires, various U.S. Census surveys) with manager supervision.
Qualifications:Our ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required
2 years of accounting and/or planning and analysis experience required
Knowledge of basic accounting concepts as they relate to the profit and loss and balance sheet statements and the relationships between them
Exceptional precision and accuracy with financial models and analysis
Exceptional problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
Strong ability to learn new systems and tools
