Sr. Web Developer - Evanston, IL - 3-6 Month Contract to Hire $55-60/hr W2; $119K plus bonus and full benefits once hired on FT

MUST HAVES: Drupal 7, PHP, OOP, design patterns, Github, Agile This position is part of the Web Development Team, which is responsible for all member and public-facing web applications, sites, and properties. You will have the opportunity to create technical specifications including defining and extending the software architecture for web-based applications. You will write both proof-of-concept code and production-ready implementations. You will guide and mentor other developers in the implementation of those same web-based applications. Through collaboration with other technical teams, UX designers, web production staff, and other stakeholders throughout the organization, your contributions will provide powerful tools that assist us in telling our story and making positive change in the world. You Will Have5+ years experience with the full software development life-cycle (SDLC) delivering web-based applications using PHP, Javascript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.Demonstrated 2+ year’s experience developing software using one of object-oriented web application framework Django, Ruby on Rails, .NET MVC, or another object-oriented web application framework.Demonstrated 2+ experience building scalable, resilient and testable solutions and how they will be monitored in Production.Demonstrated experience developing and using content management system like Drupal, sharepoint , wordpress .Demonstrated experience with any of the following technologies is a big plus: GraphQL, Drupal 7 .Mastery of Object-Oriented Programing concepts and design patterns.Experience with functional programming concepts and design patterns.Mastery of code management tools and techniques using git and experience using one of GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, or other similar software & services.Demonstrated experience with localization and internationalization for large software or web applications is a big plus.Experience mentoring other developers.Experience as a project lead, technical lead or software architect building web applications.Experience using agile methodologies to deliver software projects.A degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.Nice to have 2+ years of experience developing software using one of client-side framework like ReactJS , Angular , Vue.JS, or another client-side framework.Experience with any of the following is a nice-to-have: Microsoft Azure (or other cloud platform), Linux administration, Joomla (or other CMS), .NET development, CDNs, PHPUnit & Mocha (or other unit testing framework), TeamCity (or other CI/CD system).You Are Good AtApplying foundational computer science principles to implement well-designed, easily extended, and maintainable software.Communicating technical concepts, both verbally and in written form, to either a technical or non-technical audience.Providing guidance ,mentoring and leadership to other developers and technical team members.Aiding non-technical team members in business decision-making and prioritization using your technical knowledge and assessment of complexity and risk.Adjusting to shifting priorities and multiple parallel work efforts.Critical thinking, and technical analysis.
