Network Administrator

3 month contract for hire

Salary range $65-70K

Job Description: Under direction of the Network Engineer and or IT Director manages and supports the existing and future LAN and WAN environments; manages hardware and software maintenance and licensing; installs software; documents network and any changes or upgrades; provide 24 x 7 on-call support for mission critical systems; and perform related tasks as required.

Position Objectives:
  • Implement and maintain network solutions based on current and future organizational objectives, goals and requirements.
  • Provide technical support for mission critical systems.
  • Provide support services for organization users to maximize productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performing build-outs, system upgrades and troubleshooting day-to day problems on operating systems such as Windows, Linus, MacOS, Cisco and Dell routers and switches.
  • Plan and perform network maintenances.
  • Evaluates and/or recommends purchases of computers and peripheral equipment, and software; provides technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs.
  • Supports the network servers, routers, switches and the organizations workstations (hardware and software, help-desk support, and training).
  • Administration of 200 plus node network (Active directory, Firewalls, backup software, Outlook, Mailmarshal, Sophos, and other network related software and devices).
  • Installs, configures, setups and maintains network servers, routers, switches, and other related equipment as needed.
  • Performs software and application development, installation and upgrades; maintains site licenses for organization.
  • Plans, implements, and maintains network security, including building firewalls, managing security, file permissions and file system integrity, and adding and deleting users.
  • Assists users in maximizing use of network and computing systems.
  • Assist in the support and maintenance of all remote locations equipment (pc's, printers, laptops, and copiers), networks, firewalls, routers and switches.

Required skills:
  • Windows, MacOS and or Linux;
  • Good knowledge of or background in integrated online systems, LANs/WANs, telecommunications networks and application software.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting firewalls;
  • Using Microsoft Visio for network creation / documentation;
  • Experience in Routing, Switching, Routing Protocols, OSPF, RIP, RIP2, BGP, VPN clients and servers as well as familiarity with Cisco and Dell;

Certifications are a plus: MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP,
