System Analysts, Oak Park 3 month contract for hire $28-32 hourly, salary $55-65K

Job Description: Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of IT. The Systems Analysts analyzes business and user requirements, procedures and problems to automate processing. The Analysts performs feasibility studies, reviews computer systems capabilities, work flow, scheduling limitations and assists in planning or developing new systems or making modifications to improve existing systems.

Position Objectives: ? Analyze information processing or computation needs and assist in the plan and design of computer systems and applications, using techniques such as structured analysis and data modeling. ? Confer with users regarding their information processing or computer programming needs. ? Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems. ? Assist in setting goals for new or existing systems and devise flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs. ? Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to user environment. And analyze and recommend commercially available software.

Duties and Responsibilities: ? Interview or survey workers, observe job performance to determine process flow. ? Documentation of computer systems, day-to-day procedures and user applications. ? Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow. ? Test and analyze systems to identify code problems, software errors or deficiency and work with programmers to correct. ? Train users to work with computer systems and programs. And provide problem resolution and on-call support for software applications and computer systems. ? Ensures adequate test procedures are defined, documented, and implemented for new systems and existing systems. ? Work with fellow IT staff to design, implement and integrate systems to meet organizational requirements. ? Work with fellow IT staff to make recommendations for information technology systems, processes associated with software technology planning, development, implementation, system security, and interfaces. ? Reviews literature and other resources and keeps apprised of new software/hardware products and advances in technology.

Required Skills: ? Ability to design, develop, and implement integrated hardware/software systems solutions to organizational requirements. ? Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users. ? Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. ? Knowledge of a broad range of multi-user computer systems and applications. ? Ability to develop and write systems and applications documentation and guides for users. ? Ability to provide a range of systems training and /or support activities for users. ? Strong communication skills to be able to interface with users and programmers. ? Exceptional writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply. ? Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. ? Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software. ? Attention to detail and thoroughness.

Education or Equivalent Experience: ? Bachelor's degree desired from and accredited four-year college or university and at least 4 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; or ? Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours and at least 6 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
