Velex, Inc. is hiring a Telecommunication Apprentice in Glendale Heights, IL market.Who We're Looking For:Velex is currently looking for motivated people that are interested in a career in the Telecommunications Industry. As a Telecommunication Apprentice for Ground Services, you will receive state of the art industry training while earning a steady income. Velex will provide you with hands-on training and the best gear available.What You'll Do:Your first two weeks will be spent learning from our seasoned Telecommunications professionals in a controlled environment. There will be a mix of classroom and hands-on training. After your training is complete you will be assigned to either a Small Cell, Civil, Power Plant or Integration crew in market where you will be able to show what you have learned as well and continue to learn and grow within the Ground Services disciplines.Training will include:
OSHA 10
CPR & First Aid
Rigging
RF Awareness
Electrical Safety
Ladder Safety
Safe Climbing Practices, Procedures, and Rescue Plans
Building Materials (BOM, Parts & Equipment)
Construction & Installation Knowledge
Quality Control & Closeouts
Equipment Operator

Must be able to follow all safety policies and procedures while contributing to and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
An understanding of basic computer programs
Must be able to pass a drug and background test
Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid Driver's License
Must be able to pass a DOT physical, if required to drive
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and drive or ride in a truck for long periods of time
Must be able to crouch, kneel, and twist throughout the work day
Must be able to reach, grasp and climb with both hands
Must be available to travel up to 100% for weeks at a time if required
Flexible with shift work, to include maintenance window and weekends if needed
Local to the market
Periodic air travel will be required
Good oral and written communications skills
Ability to speak, write and read English
