The Opportunity

In a D&A SAP BI Platform Product Manager role, you will be challenged and will be part of a team to find innovative solutions that will deliver the right method, standards, techniques, and capabilities to manage both existing and new technology products. The role will provide you with excellent opportunities to grow your skills and will also bring you into contact with a diverse array of stakeholders within Mondelz Information Business Services (IBS) and other internal stakeholders. The manager fosters and maintains productive relationships with business partners, SAP COE, global, regional and local IT colleagues and manages third parties (internal & external) who provide software and services.

This role will require partnering with the Enterprise Application Value Streams, other Enterprise Platform leaders (including the Enterprise Platforms Architect), Application Development, Core Engineering, Operations, and Information Security teams. He/She will manage operations for all SAP Production systems such as SAP BI platforms BW on HANA across regions and environments.

What You'll Do

SAP BI Platform life cycle management - Manage upgrades, enhancements, patches for SAP BI as needed across the global and all regional systems. Coordinate with technical and functional teams across impacted technologies and business users for SAP BI landscape. Ensure SOPs/checklists are in-place and followed, coordinate strategic initiatives, performance tuning, and perform administration tasks for all D&A SAP BI systems.

  • Release Management - Engages with and provides oversight of Major/Minor releases and technical cutovers across global and all regional SAP BI systems. Review deliveries are to standards and following release/transport/technical guidelines.

  • Thought leadership - Keeping abreast with latest technologies and provide technical oversight and leadership necessary to accomplish work with occasional hand-on involvement. Is seen as expert within the SAP (BI) domain and lives a hands-on mentality to peer up with team.

  • Portfolio / financial management - Provides input to financial and people resource plans for the area. Ensures resources are in place and operating effectively within the technical discipline; Creating and managing to financial budgets; Is accountable for achieving budget objectives for the team and manages the team's financial forecasts. Ensuring resources and organization structure are in place and operating effectively. Develops portfolio roadmaps to convey the current and future state vision and status of their portfolios.

  • Platform health management - Manages the resolution of issues across the SAP BI landscape, partnering with their IT peers i.e. the enterprise infrastructure, Basis, AMS/DataOps, CloudOps teams. Resolves technical and business issues escalated from their team successfully. Appropriately escalates to their manager only issues of significant risk, sensitivity, and impact on the business. Ensures root-cause analysis is completed and learnings are integrated into new or revised SOPs.
  • Develops work plans and priorities for their area, based on objectives received. Improves work procedures and processes for their area continually. Prioritizes work, monitors work quality, reviews output and ensures that team members are equipped to successfully deliver the work of their area. Anticipating conflicting needs and proactively resolving them.

  • Leads the effort to engage external contract personnel that support SAP BI operations where required.
  • Assists in the development and presentation of various analysis to management (e.g., organizational, systems, feasibility, cost/benefit studies, implementation plans).
  • Partners with clients to identify technology requirements and provide solutions. Develops strong relationships with clients and team to develop solutions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or a combination of experience and education.

  • 6+ years of relevant IT infrastructure and SAP Basis experience managing SAP BW/Hana, S4/HANA systems in a globally deployed environment
  • 2+ years of management experience or demonstrating leadership of others; Management of globally dispersed team members a plus; Management of development teams a plus.
  • 1+ years working in Agile/DevOps delivery methodologies (CICD/Scrum) plus a good understanding of Mondelez tollgate and enterprise release processes
  • Experience in SAP BI system installation, upgrades, performance tuning and administration of applications running on Windows/UNIX OS and HANA, MSSQL or Oracle databases
  • Deep knowledge of SAP architecture specifically SAP NetWeaver and SAP Azure Cloud

  • Experience in working 24/7 production support environment in different shifts
  • Knowledge or experience with implementing or working in a DevOps culture a plus.
  • Relevant certifications a plus.
