Our 103,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.Primary Job Function:The Abbott Diagnostics Core Operations Assistant Controller is a key leadership role for Abbott Diagnostics Headquarters Finance. This role is responsible for financial planning and analysis for the Diagnostics Core Lab Operations Manufacturing and Supply Chain Organizations including leading the Annual Plan, Latest Best Estimates (RLBEs) and analysis of Actual results. This role reports directly to the Abbott Diagnostics Division Core Lab Operations Controller. The Assistant Controller is also the key contact for ADD Core Lab Operations Finance for all financial matters including RLBE/Plan, Actuals reporting, Cash Flow and Capital.This position will lead a team of 3 direct reports (1 manager, 2 analysts).Key Responsibilities:

Lead the annual Plan and quarterly LBE process for Core Lab Operations, which includes defining the process, creating the calendar, aligning key stakeholders across the Division (Commercial, R&D, Division, etc.), communicating with the manufacturing sites and the broader Operations organization on process, key assumptions and expectations, and completing LBE submission schedules required by Division.

Lead the Capital Planning and Reporting processes for the overall ADD Division, in coordination with Commercial, R&D, Transfusion and Core Lab Operations. Provide financial support to the Operations Strategy and Engineering organizations for the annual Operations Capacity Planning and Capital investment LRP.

Prepare Executive ready LBE and Plan presentations for the Division Vice President of Core Lab Operations, ADD Leadership and Corporate reviews.

Lead the monthly actuals reporting process for total consolidated Core Lab Operations, providing consolidated commentary to stakeholders. Create Monthly Financial Package, IBP Reporting and required Division reporting and commentary.

Key ADD Supply Chain Finance contact for Corporate functions (i.e. Tax, Transfer Pricing, Treasury, Margin, etc.)

Lead special projects, such as new product launch activities, acquisition integration and/or resolution of standard costing, transfer pricing or other issues as they arise.

Support the forecasting and analysis of ADD cash flow metrics, including direct responsibility for reporting and commentary on total ADD DPO and DOH metrics.

Complete various ad-hoc analyses and support as required, for ADD Core Lab Operations Controller, Division Vice President Core Lab Operations and ADD Division Finance team.

Key contact for Abbott Diagnostics Division Headquarters, representing ADD Core Lab Operations Finance. Support key Division initiatives as required.

Skills Required:

Financial Expertise: Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and concisely communicate the business implications of forecasts and actual results. Ad hoc analysis and preparation of presentations for senior leadership is a critical component of this role. Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles with the ability to apply this knowledge to support business needs.

Leadership: This individual will lead directly and indirectly as the key communicator between Core Lab Operations, ADD HQ, Corporate Functions and the ADD Supply Chain Organization. Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, including influencing others, and the ability to direct the efforts and development of managers and analysts.

Communication: This role interfaces with multiple levels within the Operations and the broader ADD organization; excellent communication skills are essential. Interaction with multiple levels of the organization will require demonstrated maturity, professionalism and tactfulness.

Deliver Results: Candidate must manage multiple priorities and changing customer demands under tight timelines. Ability to effectively manage workload to ensure deadlines are not missed is critical. The individual must be highly motivated and have a desire to innovate and drive productive change. The ability to work effectively in teams, as well as independently, is essential.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.

Requires 10-12 years of progressive Finance/Accounting experience.

Working knowledge of HFM and SAP (Symphony) are preferred.

Operations/Supply Chain and/or consolidation experience is not required but would be helpful.
