Job Description
Analyzes medical records for pertinent information before test is administered. Prepares patient for test; applies electrodes. Calibrates EEG and operates instrumentation, choosing parameters for optimal recording. Records montages and instrument settings; keeps technical notes and highlights tracings to allow for greater ease of interpretation of test results by neurologist. Observes patient, tracings and monitors during test; reports any unusual occurrences and informs medical personnel of any change in the patient's condition. Performs ambulatory and portable EEG. Provides documentation for patient records; forwards reports to patients, family members, physicians and other healthcare providers as indicated. Follows protocol for conscious sedation. Enters charges accordingly. Conducts training of staff as needed.
Qualifications
Required: - High School Diploma or equivalent . - BLS through American Heart Association. Desired: - American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist (ABRET)
