This will include in-situ studies under thermal, mechanical and/or thermo-mechanical loading using both angle- and energy-dispersive diffraction as well as full-field imaging. The candidate will be responsible for supporting user groups and developing high-energy x-ray techniques. The candidate is expected to regularly communicate the results of this work through publications and oral presentations.

The candidate is expected to have a passion for solving real-world problems by working in a team environment and maintaining a balance between fundamental and applied research.

Knowledge of crystallography and one or more of the following techniques: x-ray diffraction, scattering and imaging, is required, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good knowledge of x-ray physics and optics, synchrotron radiation and detectors.

Other desirable skills include software skills in high level programming (Matlab, Python, etc).

Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience, or Master’s and 3+ years, or Doctorate and 0 years of required experience or equivalent.
