Location: Libertyville, IL Salary: W2 only, no C2C Description: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer (W2 only, no C2C)
Libertyville, IL (Remote for now but should be going back in early/mid 2022. Prefer local candidates but will consider out of state candidates as well) W2 only (No Corp to Corp, No OPT/CPT/F1 Candidates Please) This role will need to bridge the gap between developers and operational teams with the goal of increasing product development velocity and security. This position will help enable development teams to increase code quality for security, stability, and performance. They will define and create tools, processes and programs that help mitigate problems in the system design stage as well as investigate and implement new technologies that will improve the overall Cloud environment. This role will incorporate guardrails and cost transparency for our cloud environment. The person must possess a passion to automate everything, and an equal passion to share their knowledge with others.Platform responsibilities - assign 50% of time Develop AWS automation increasing maturity Enable guardrails, security, and operational checks in the cloud Work with Cloud Engineers to automate existing operational process Create IaC templates for development teams Support and develop pipeline features and tools Train Cloud resources on development methodologies and technologies Create monitoring and logging features to increase stability Help track KPI's for transparency around deployments Work on the overall Cloud team backlog items to provide continuous support and improvement to the platform Collaborate with the Systems Engineering team with cloud migrations when necessary Participate in discussions with networking team around cloud connectivity and on prem connectivityDevOps responsibility - 40% of time spent Supplement the product development team to add velocity and provide specialized skills Train developers and operations resources on DevOps processes and methodologies Create and teach Pipeline standards and best practices Attend daily stands for product teams Analyze code and provide detailed review to development teams for improvement in applications Collaborate with development teams to increase security in products produced Optimize the computing environment - look for cost savings measuresAdditional responsibilities - assign 10% of time Work in a Scrum format Attend PI Planning sessions and contribute to Epics/Backlog/Stories Research new technologies to mitigate risk and enhance performanceRequired Skills Experience working in an AWS based environment Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools (Concourse or equivalent) Understanding of IAM rules in depth 3+ years as DevOps Engineer or equivalent software engineer Experience with source code repositories Automation with AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform Strong software development skills in some common languages - (I.e. JavaScript, React, Node.js) Good operational knowledge of infrastructure technologies (i.e. - server, storage, networking) General understanding of security principals and technologies (i.e. firewalls, proxy servers ) Understanding of various product release strategies - (i.e. - Blue Green, A/B, Canary) Understanding of production support processes and requirements Familiarity with Agile development methodologiesDesired: AWS Certifications DevOps Certifications Agile Certifications (SAFe) Experience with SAST solutions (SonarQube or equivalent) Experience creating automated testing Please send qualified resume to: Contact: This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
