UX DESIGNER / RESEARCHER - REMOTE

Remote - most team / office is in Chicago, IL

6+ Month contract w/ good chance to extend

$30 - $35 pay per hour DOQ

A global professional services company is looking for an experienced UX Designer/Researcher to join their team. As a UX Researcher, you will reveal what our users need and experience from our products by conducting primary and secondary research, exploring the behaviors and motivation of our users and helping design experiences that reimagine how people and organizations thrive. You'll work with other user experience designers, developers, strategists, product managers, analytics partners, and other creatives to elevate and standardize company product experiences.

Responsibilities

Applies human-centered design methodologies and designs holistic digital experiences

Conducts business discovery to understand requirements and generate insights that shape the UX strategy and design decisions

Develops user profiles, personas and task matrix, task lists, process flows, user journey maps and wireframes

Works with analytics and data science, design and analyze A/B tests

Consults with team on appropriate research design, methodology, analysis, and results interpretation

Conducts UX research using the full range of UX research techniques: surveys, usability testing, text/structured data analysis, qualitative interviews and focus groups

Presents research proposals and results, strategy and design work to clients

Manages overlapping projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment

Work closely with marketing and product management teams to identify research topics

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Experience Design, Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Digital Media, Human Factors, Psychology, Information Science, Market Research and/or equivalent design exposure

1+ years' experience in a UX research role, with research and design portfolio

Experience developing and conducting a wide range of types of usability tests as part of a user-centered design process

In-depth understanding of UI design

Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative UX research methods, such as lab-based or remote moderated usability testing, unmoderated testing, user interviews, field research, and survey research

Working knowledge of statistics and experimental design

Excellent communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to influence key stakeholders

Passion for using data to inform decisions and to advocate for our users

Expertise in Excel, statistical analytics software familiarity, survey software familiarity, Qualtrics, usability software familiarity (UserZoom, UserTesting.com, Validately, OptimalSort or equivalent)

Fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch and Invision
