Our focus is delivering Trucks and Buses that carry on the promise of being on the road, and staying there.Attorney – Product Performance & Regulatory AffairsUnder the direction of the Assistant Managing Attorney, will provide comprehensive oversight, management, and strategic direction on regulatory matters and litigation.Position Purpose and Requirements:

Provide effective legal counseling and manage lawsuits against Navistar relating to, among other issues, asbestos, warranty, and product liability matters.

Manage other litigation and pre-litigation matters directly or with the assistance of outside legal counsel.

Interpret applicable laws, rulings and regulations, and advise Navistar on legal rights, remedies and options.

Provide legal advice, support and services to Navistar on a broad range of topics and issues.

Additional preferred experience in ediscovery, bankruptcy, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, or regulatory matters.

Provide training to company personnel on substantive legal topics.

Help with the creation and implementation of legal policies and protocols.

Interacts well with and advises senior executives and all other levels of management on litigation matters.

Position PurposeProvides support functions for the Office of General Counsel. Responsible for leading the processes, problem solving and implementing solutions to the complex and high risk legal issues. Provides proactive strategy around identified opportunities. Serves as a critical asset in helping senior management articulate financial and legal strategy. Reviews legal data and advises organization on appropriate legal action to be taken. Performs litigation on the company’s behalf or manages and directs litigation and other legal matters handled by outside counsel. Recognized expert in one legal area or is a broad based corporate generalist.Basic RequirementsJuris Doctor Degree (JD) and at least 5 years of experience as an attorneyAdditional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
