TheNovice Nurse RN (< 12 months of experience) is responsible for providing anddocumenting skilled nursing care in accordance with care developed for eachindividual patient in accordance with physician’s orders when applicable.Maxim Healthcare Services is one of the largest private duty nursing and medical staffing agencies in the country. Our Lombard office- practicing across 6 counties- is expanding, and we’re looking for nurses who want to grow with us! We are actively hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) to assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and deliver of patient care. With Maxim, you work with patients in a one-on-one setting from the comfort of their home. A Private Duty Registered Nurse (RN) focuses all their skills and attention on a single patient, ranging in age and acuity level. All Registered Nurses (RNs) hired will work under the supervision of an RN Clinical Supervisor. The Private Duty Registered Nurse (RN) will consistently perform according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Re-evaluates patient nursing needsregularly

Utilizes the nursing process to plan,implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted services

Initiates the plan of care whendirected and requests from prescriber necessary revisions as patient status and needs change

Incorporates therapeutic, preventive,and rehabilitative nursing actions based on nursing diagnosis and established goals

Assures patient safety at all timesand recipient of services provided

Intervenes as applicable to changes incondition and reports such changes to appropriate supervisor and/or physician

Administers medications and treatmentsas prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention

Monitors the safety and effectivenessof the environment and equipment including universal precautions

Reviews plan of care, programprotocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting anddischarge planning needs as applicable

Documents all physiciancollaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates this information asneeded

Supports profession practice byobserving the following;

Nurse Practice Act

Standards of Nursing Practice

Standards of Patient Care

Standards of Accrediting Body(ACHC, Joint Commission, etc.)

State and Local Laws

Patient Bill of Rights

Maxim Healthcare, Nursing, andClient’s Policies

Adheres to Maxim policy and procedureand applicable protocols

Attends case conferences, teammeetings, education in-services as required

Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing

License Required

A minimum GPA requirement is expected.Authorization from Area or Regional clinical leadership should be considered whenhiring an applicant who does not meet a 3.0 GPA threshold

Complies with accepted professionalstandards and practice

Current resume including clinicalhours and rotations

Two letters of reference wherepossible. Prefer one reference to be professional reference (i.e. clinical instructor)

Current CPR

PPD or chest X ray if applicable

Successful completion of Maxim Homecare Novice NurseProgram orientation and training
