This individual will be responsible for establishing guidelines and standards to obtain quality and competitive cost material. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the internal material flow projects including Kanban and Heijunka set up to improve inventory turns for the business. This individual will provide consistent, fair, and timely feedback to team members through various channels, i.e., one on one opportunities, reviews, coaching, mentoring, and training in accordance with the company culture.Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct and control activities related to the negotiation and procurement of all materials and services used at the site such as raw materials, equipment, tooling and operating supplies.

Control, monitor, and evaluate the materials process ensuring any potential issues are immediately flagged, escalated, mitigated, and resolved.

Develop and manages inventory targets, service levels, and forecasts. Maintains inventory of purchased parts at an acceptable level by balancing forecast requirements with inventory management requirements.

Set up Lean material flow at the site such as Kanban and Heijunka and drive a lean culture with self- managed teams.

Oversee and enforce supplier quality and on time delivery development

Implement suitable material control systems to ensure that appropriate stock levels are maintained and adopted.

Manage and develop a team of people ensuring adequate support and appropriate training is provided to advance their development within the organization.

In conjunction with manufacturing, improve the production process by minimizing materials, lead times, cycle times, and scrap reduction.

Manage and maintain effective communication with all internal and external partners, such as suppliers, members of the Management team, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Marketing and Operations.

Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with four or more years of experience in Supply Chain and or Logistics.

Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or Distribution

Experience leading and managing a team

Must have a broad understanding of the functional components of materials management.

Experience implementing Lean tools
