Brief Summary of Position:The Production (Capacity) Scheduler (PCS) will plan, schedule, and coordinate shop floor orders while supporting order fulfillment and timely shipment of the product. The PCS is responsible to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and material between departments according to production schedules and will confer with the Operations Manager to determine progress of work and completion dates. The PCS will gather performance data and produce reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas where improvements can be implemented.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions of Position:
  • Provide day-to-day administration and support to production. Review and distribute production, work and shipment schedules.
  • Work with shop floor orders from creation to shipment.
  • Plan and schedule shop floor orders in conjunction with operations and engineering teams.
  • Generate jobs from workbench, create, job packets released to production, including the documentation regarding special handling of parts/customers.
  • Issue components of job material transactions.
  • Post job transactions periodically throughout day and update open orders report.
  • Perform job closing activities on a daily basis.
  • Compile daily reporting – Labor, Shrink Factors, KPIs
  • Work within inventory control practices to maximize inventory turns.
  • Manage and update all data relative to purchasing and planning. Advise purchasing of the need for plant supplies.
  • Ensure the understanding of and compliance with all Quality System policies, procedures, work instructions and objectives. Assist the Quality Assurance function in corrective/preventive action.
  • Serve as back-up for Operations Manager when necessary.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a continuous improvement culture.
  • Work within the constraints of EHS and quality regulations.
  • Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

Job Experience and Qualifications:
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing and material ordering processes.
  • Application of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to read and understand bills of material and other planning functions.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Enthusiasm and adaptability, able to acquire new skills and knowledge quickly.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to facilitate productive interaction with employees.
  • Strong personal organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Can demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Operational Management, or a related field in manufacturing operations is preferred but not a Must, just a plus.

Beneficial Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent working knowledge of ERP / MRP based software (Syteline 8 preferred).
  • Proficient and comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Working Conditions:
  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Standard work week is Monday through Friday, hours to be consistent with business unit
  • Will work in the office or on the production floor.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and be able to physically assist with moving carts, trays, and boxes.
  • Frequent walking and standing for long periods of time on production floor.
  • Sitting and/or working at a computer for extended periods of time.
