Job Description
Scheduling need: 0-40 hours a week, 10am-630pm is the greatest need, weekend needs as well.
Essential Functions: Specifically responsible for escorting patients as assigned. Responsible for verifying patient identity using two patient identifiers. Provide and adjust escort equipment for safety and comfort of the patient. Required to disinfect / wipe down equipment with approved cleaning product between patient transports. Assist patients onto escort equipment. If patients need additional help, responsible to seek additional assistance. Responsible for notifying nursing or ancillary personnel upon arrival or departure of patients. Attends to the care of documents relating to the patient. Report immediately any unusual symptoms of patients i.e., fainting or shortness of breath during time of escort. Responsible for assuring adequate oxygen tank pressure and settings for transport. Recognizes oxygen therapy treatment and notifies RN before taking patient. Changes oxygen tank regulator. Prepares outpatients for exams and escorts patient to proper exam room. Assists Diagnostic Imaging technologists during exams with lifting and positioning the patient assigns cassettes with patient information and scan images. Deliver lab specimens when assigned. Check name and MR# on each specimen for accuracy. Stock supplies and linens. Maintains Diagnostic Imaging changing areas. Assists patients to restroom. Responsible for ensuring JCAHO & Safety standards are met. Responsible for following all recommended Infection Control procedures. Provides feedback to management regarding equipment conditions and availability. EOE Minorities/Women/Disabled/Veterans. VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Required: - High School diploma or equivalent. - BLS through the American Heart Association. Desired: - At least 1 year experience with patient care.
