Job DescriptionClient’s Brand and Commercial Operations (BCo) Business Technology Solutions (BTS) organization is helping transform the business by connecting information from across Commercial Operations to support our patients. This is an exciting opportunity to be a leader in that change. This position will be responsible for establishing and delivering Portfolio processes and capabilities to improve the BCo BTS organization by aligning to strategic initiatives. The primary function of the Portfolio manager is to establish sustainable, effective strategies and processes for portfolio, Financial and performance management that enable business change and to support initiatives critical for organizational success. The Portfolio manager ensures that appropriate Project Management policies, procedures and standards are established and communicated throughout the organization. The Portfolio manager will drive change to improve the portfolio, financial and performance management processes. The Portfolio manager is responsible for improving the maturity of the BCo BTS organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Management
  • Responsible for the BCo BTS Portfolio and aligning to Strategic Management Plans.
  • Accountable for the successful execution/delivery of the BCo BTS Portfolio programs and projects by coordinating multi discipline (both technical and business) cross functional teams.
  • Accountable for delivering and communicating the status of the portfolio and value/benefits created by BTS programs and projects.
  • Strong cross-domain collaboration across Commercial Operations Portfolios and BTS Enterprise PMO to ensure coordinated and consistent program delivery, share insights, highlight synergies, issues, risks, dependencies, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent execution of intake management.
  • Evaluate cross organizational planned and unplanned requests with scope, timing, impacts of projects to the Portfolio. Manage impacts to Portfolio.
  • Document the Meeting Minutes and follow up on Risk, Issues and Action Items.
  • Financial Management
  • Deliver the long-range planning (LRP) and capital planning activities for the BCo BTS organization. Align with the business to implement a common strategy and plan to achieve business goals.
  • Create and sustain business literacy in the BTS organization; maintain clarity about values, visions, meaning, and purpose in BTS/business integration.
  • Document the Meeting Minutes and follow up on Risk, Issues and Action Items.
  • Performance Management
  • Work with leadership to develop and drive QBR agenda and content.
  • Maintain a balance scorecard to illustrate and monitor BCo BTS performance through effective KPI’s.
  • Benchmark BCo BTS performance against industry, Client BTS, and peer IT organizations.
  • Effectively identify and communicate current BTS performance capabilities and opportunities for improvement to executive level business leaders.
  • Work directly with leadership to translate performance goals into process improvement initiatives.
  • Measure, monitor and manage business partner satisfaction and develop/manage action plans to improve as applicable.
  • Document the Meeting Minutes and follow up on Risk, Issues and Action Items.

Other Skills/Experience/Education/Certification Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 10 to 13 years of work experience including project management, portfolio management, strategic planning, creating, and reporting key performance indicators.
  • Expert working knowledge and hands-on experience with project and portfolio management processes and tools
  • Ability to work cross functionality to achieve performance improvement objectives
  • Experience planning and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Project Management experience - Strongly preferred
  • Execution of large programs/projects - Strongly preferred
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and GxP strongly preferred
  • Experience with SAP financial modules
  • Strong understanding of the disciplines necessary to run an IT organization like a business
  • Broad awareness of ITIL processes, IT industry and IT maturity models
  • Demonstrable knowledge of application development, implementation and support best practices
  • Track record of driving deliverables to conclusion and managing issues within a team
  • Ability to prepare and present executive level presentations, communicate and persuade Business and IT executives
  • Strong data analytical abilities to derive and communicate trends
  • Clarity or similar PPM tool experience
  • Smartsheet experience desired
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • PMP certification desired
